Scheme description
In December 2002 we won planning consent for this residential building in Westminster. The site stands next tow the Grade I listed Victorian church of St James the Less and the Grade II* listed 1960's estate, Lillington Gardens on Vauxhall Bridge Road. We first agreed a basic massing which respected the important views of the church, with the planners at Westminster. We subsequently developed the design for this contemporary building containing 16 apartments for sale plus 2 live/ work units replacing a local potter's workshop. The new building picks up on many of the lines and details from its older neighbours and uses sympathetic materials such as brick, concrete and slate in a contemporary idiom.
