Scheme description
Harrow Council and Acton Housing Association held a design competition in June 2003 following which we were appointed as urban designers, planning consultants and architects for the development of a town centre site in Wealdstone, north west London. The design developed an agreed urban design strategy, which responds positively to the four different character areas that interact with the site.

The layout also creates a new pedestrian link through the development to improve neighbourhood permeability, provide active frontages to streets and ensures all communal areas are secure and over-looked by residents. The Grant Road redevelopment comprises 97 new residential units designed to a very specific brief.

There is a mix of market sale and social housing within the scheme, which also accommodates lifetime homes, wheelchair houses, shared ownership and rented apartments.
