Scheme description
Creating new office buildings within the City of London requires a particular range of skills.

To create office space of the highest quality, well serviced and capable of adaptation to a variety of layouts and meet the architectural challenge of designing new elevations within an important City Conservation area opposite the listed Church of St Andrew.

The design, which received strong endorsement from the City of London planners and conservation officers, resulted from a careful study of the local context and echoes materials traditionally used in the Holborn area. The main elevation is brick, modulated by a rhythm of vertical bay windows. A striking semicircular drum marks the main entrance and articulates the junction with the adjacent building as well as providing exciting meeting spaces with spectacular views towards Holborn Circus.

The result is a building which is clearly modern in its expression and yet one which fits well with its neighbours. The building was pre-let to a prominent firm of construction solicitors.
