Swansea Point was a winning urban design strategy for a 10 hectare site on the seafront at Swansea.
The design for this contaminated former industrial site was a response to a developer/design bid organised by the vendor and the local authority.
The scheme departed from the brief by increasing the massing of the buildings to the focal point of the site. By doing so, the opportunity was created to use the released site area for a sheltered open space on a scale not originally envisaged. This in turn added value to the scheme through improved amenity and sea views.
