John Moore studied at South Bank University and later the University of East London, where he engaged in a variety of architectural fields, from sustainability to computational design. He holds a Masters in Environmental & Energy Studies and is passionate about this and sustainable urban design.
John has worked for private residential developers as well as some of the best national and international practices such as, Snøhetta and Arcasa, in Norway and DeRyke Marsh Morgan and Chetwood Associates in London. He has developed an expertise in managing broad design teams to optimise the design quality and profitability of a number of large, successful, mixed-use projects, for example, The Chapel, Southampton, winner of Building for Life Gold Award with Chetwood Associates.
Since joining Formation in March 2007 John has set up a team to focus on urban and regional residential lead development projects, which currently vary in scale from a small luxury warehouse conversion in Islington to a 26 hectare Station Quarter redevelopment.
These schemes are based on careful research and analysis of their particular context followed by rigorous production of beautiful drawings and models to develop sustainable built projects, where high quality public and private space are integral elements of the designs.
